Welcome back everyone! My name is Andre Stevenson. I am a BFA Printmaking Senior and I want to let you all know about an opportunity to take control of the COTA gallery space this fall. I am the Coordinator for this years Salon des Refusés (ray-few-say). If you didn’t already know, the historical Salon des Refusés (Exhibition of Rejects) was a significant exhibition because it recognized the artists right to exhibit work that wasn’t concerned with meeting institutional standards and it was a great opportunity for courageous independent artists to have their work viewed and critiqued and develop their careers. This is an open call; work can be old or new, any style, in any medium, and made at any point in time. Work not featured in this years Insights exhibition as well as work from all Art Education, Art History, Studio BA majors, and COTA staff and faculty is especially welcomed. Pieces can be framed or unframed and all work submitted will be accepted on a space available basis. Our exhibition opens in half of the Gatov space on October 19th, so the sooner you submit your work the better.Review the gallery guidelines for installation and clean-up at this link (http://www.art.csulb.edu/students/gallery_guidelines/home/) and start considering which piece of your work you’d like to feature. Keep up to date, ask any questions that you may have, and submit your work on our Facebook group at this address: http://www.tinyurl.com/n79oy82
